FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

To set up a session at the Ghosthouse first confirm a date with Rich (you can use the booking form, email us, or text 303.720.6176 to get in touch) — once we have a time agreed on, a deposit is required to lock in your slot. We can keep your time on a temporary hold for up to 48 hours as you confirm availability with other musicians, photographers, videographers, etc. before sending your deposit to finalize your booking.

While we can sometimes accomodate short notice sessions, keep in mind the studio is often booked out several weeks in advance so please contact us as early as you can to get the best possible time.

The deposit is half of the total for an hourly session, or $200 per day for full days. We can take your deposit over an app such as PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Square, etc., or you can pay in cash in person. You can find all the links to pay right here.

The remainder of your session payment is due on the day of the session.

After putting in a deposit, we need a minimum of two weeks notice to cancel or reschedule your session without penalty. Sessions cancelled within two weeks of the start date will forfeit the entire deposit for your session.

Keep in mind, we are a small studio providing high quality work at an affordable rate; our policies help us to be able to continue serving musicians and talent to our best ability.

A full day at the Ghosthouse is a ten hour block that typically starts at 10 am. Your session will be ran by me, lead engineer Rich G, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon beforehand.

Setup at the studio usually goes extremely quickly - if you are using the studio’s drumkit for your project, it will be set up and micced up prior to your arrival. If you are planning a session longer than one day with multiple musicians, we are generally open to doing a one to two hour load-in the evening before your start time to get some gear in the building and do a little pre-planning.

Our goal is always to keep the process seamless so you can focus on your own performance and end goals without worry. If you have any questions about the recording process feel free to call or text me to go over everything — we always want you to feel assured going in to a session here that things will run smoothly and as planned.

I am always happy to send you session files at no charge, no questions asked. Sessions are generally done in Pro Tools and I can get you either your session folder and .ptx files, or stems/multitracks from your project either on the day of the session or at any point after it.

It is for sure practical and time saving to bring a hard drive if you want to collect the files for a large project, such as a full album; but even if you forget, we can usually make arrangements to send most large files over a webservice such as WeTransfer or Google Drive.

I archive files for as long as I can, typically indefinitely; never be shy to ask for your session files if you want them at any time for any reason. I have heard some weird and frustrating stories from people who have been denied stems or sessions from other engineers; I never understood why some studios are so precious about this. Your session belongs to you, fully.

We have a parking lot that can fit 3-4 vehicles. If you need more than that, street parking nearby is free and it is almost never hard to find a spot.

Oh my yes - the studio is located in the Lower Highlands neighborhood of Denver, which has many of the best restaurants in the city, as well as many fast and casual options closeby, and there are a ton of delivery options. Some of our personal favorites include Los Carboncitos, Tamales by La Casita, Odie B’s sandwiches, Nana’s Dumplings, Pepper Asian Bistro, Highland Tap and Grill, Brooklyn’s Finest Pizza, Gaetanos Italian, Ash Kara, Postino, Avanti… there are sincerely too many to mention.

There are also many great places to catch a drink nearby, such as Spirit Hound Distillery right next door to the studio, as well as several hip bars such as Scapegoat, Recess, Forest Room Five, and many others.

Steam Espresso Bar is located on the same block as the studio serving coffee until 3pm daily. We also have a simple coffee maker on hand for your convenience.

Finally, you are always welcome to anything you can find in our rare and exotic candy dish.

I know it can be stressful and unpredictable bringing your music into a new studio for the first time. I take your trust seriously and am always looking to make sure you are feeling comfortable, productive, and thrilled with the end result. Please feel free to contact me directly at any time with any concerns or requests about your session.

Appreciate you!
